About the owner, KAYLIE KIM, @kayliekimyoga

Kaylie Kim is a 200-RYT certified yoga teacher at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health for Hatha yoga, as well as a 200-RYT certified teacher at One Movement Yoga with Dylan Werner for Power Vinyasa Flow. She is an aerial yoga teacher certified at Antigravity Lab. and trained for TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga) by David Emerson and Jenn Turner of JRI. She is certified for Five Element Yoga by Jennifer Reis and Nidra for deeper relaxation. She is working toward 500-RYT and therapeutic yoga professional.

Kaylie’ came to Ithaca as a graduate student in science at Cornell in 1997 and got a Ph.D. in 1999. She went back to South Korea to work as a professor in Catholic University of Korea for 7 years. She came back to Ithaca in 2007 as a visiting professor at Cornell and fell in love with the town which she hadn’t experienced as a student. She decided to move back to Ithaca, quit her job in South Korea after 2 years preparing, and worked as a research scholar at Cornell until she started writing. She practiced yoga during this time of her life and found yoga as a healing movement. She started learning and researching yoga and teaching after getting her first yoga teacher certification at Kripalu. She kept learning and practicing yoga since the first day of yoga practice deepening her understanding in yoga while she published two books and studied Jungian psychology. She found all her life learning and experience converge in living as a yogi and guiding a yoga class. She views yoga practice as a living experience rather than a goal to be achieved. She prefers the term “yoga guide” than “yoga teacher” in her philosophy that she may explain in the longer words in the future.
